Janurary

Palmyra Middle School library was pleased to host a high school student for a shadowing day, as this student plans on becoming a school librarian. :)

Mrs. Mellott read The Librarian's Night Before Christmas and The Giving Tree in Mrs. Leach's classes. Students wrote on scraps of wrapping paper something that they could give and an inspiring bulletin board was created.

Many new titles were purchased at the Scholastic warehouse sale and have been flying off the shelves.

The Lunch Bunch book club has started meeting on cycle days 2 and 3. Students bring their lunches to the library and discuss the books they are reading. Many students received new books for Christmas as well as a few Kindles. Here is a site using podcasts and web videos to get students excited about reading: www.bookwink.com

The library is continuing the reading promotion Fun Fridays:
January 14th There's snow better time to read: where white or snowmen shirts
January 21st Penguin Day: wear black and white
January 28th Chill out and read: wear scarves and winter hats
